Due to the continuing COVID-19 situation, Netball Europe are unable to deploy a Tutor to travel to Switzerland so this course will be delivered virtually however workshop participants will need to be in attendance at Bois-des-Frères on the day with a laptop or smart device (iPhone, iPad etc.).

Swiss Netball is pleased to offer this Netball Europe Technical Officials Beginner Workshop. They are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are willing to volunteer to train as a Technical Official to support with domestic and national competition in Switzerland.
To participate in this course, you must be at least 16 years old and an individual member of Swiss Netball. This workshop covers Modules 1 & 2.
Module 1 – Scorer 2
You will be introduced to the roles of the Technical Officials and being part of the Officiating team
You will be shown the roles of the 4 Technical Officials together with paperwork used
You will go through all aspects of the Scorer 2 role and INF paperwork
You will have a practical session followed by Q&A ́s
Module 2 – Timekeeper
You will practice timing and pressing quickly
You will understand the procedures for extra time and game management
You will have a practical session with videos of game management
Outcomes
You will know the required equipment expected of any level of Technical Officials
You will be made aware of the Technical Official roles
You will know how to score a match using the simplified / Scorer 2 sheet
You will know how to use a stopwatch to time a match accurately and how to deal successfully with any incidents that may arise ie. stoppages for blood or injury
You will go through the SN extra time procedures and how they have implications to the table officials
You will be aware that every effort is made to cover every predicted incident in a game, however there is sometimes issues which arise during a match that cannot be predicted and the Table Officials need to remain calm and use their common sense
Post Module 1 & 2 there will be opportunities to put this skill into practice and receive feedback.

Please note in order to attain a full Technical Official qualification, you will need to attend all 5 modules and undertake the necessary practical work together with maintaining a log book of matches and paperwork to be signed off accordingly.
